If at first you don't succeed try again and again and again in different stadiums.
That's what the 15-0 Commerce Tigers will be doing tonight in Texas Stadium against the 14-0 Sealy Tigers as Commerce makes its third bid for a Class 3A state football title in this decade.
Commerce lost heartbreakers to Sealy in 1995 and 1997 in the state title game. Sealy turned back a two-point gamble to win 21-20 in 1995 at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. Sealy pulled out a 28-21 victory over Commerce in 1997 at the Astrodome in Houston.
The two teams will tee it up at 7 tonight at Texas Stadium, a place the Sealy Tigers have never played.
"We didn't like the Astrodome too much," said Commerce coach Steve Lineweaver. "It was hot and of course the trip was long. We, of course, like the short trip."
This time Sealy has the longer bus ride and will have to play in an unfamiliar site, though the Tigers have no doubt seen Texas Stadium many times on television while watching the Dallas Cowboys.
