BONHAM - A steady downpour in the first half and increasingly sloppy field conditions in the final two quarters put a damper on the District 11-3A showdown between bitter rivals Friday night at Warrior Stadium.

But the miserable conditions didn't end the misery for Bonham as the Commerce Tigers prevailed over the hosts for the tenth straight time in a mistake-filled 32-20 win.

The victory was the 23rd straight for No. 9 state-ranked Commerce, which improved to 7-0 on the season and 2-0 in district play. Bonham, which last posted a win over the Tigers in 1991, fell to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in district play.
