Dear Brothers,
   This past weekend we had Pig Roast and it was a great success.  There were a lot of people out there and it was a really good time. 
   We have 13th Annual Pi Kappa Alpha Crawfish on April 19,2008 at pikeland and i would love for everyone to be there.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me on my cell 214.402.9936.  I am also going to be sending frequent emails to make sure that you get them and can mark it on your calender to come.

Rush:

We had a phenomenal rush this semester. I know, I said I would get 30 bids signed, but only 22 actually held. I could not be more proud of our Chapter! After this semester we will continue to not only be the largest chapter on campus, we will have over 50 men in Theta Xi!

Homecoming Week

October 23-28

Friday October 27th will be the Luncheon and Bonfire.

Luncheon 12 Noon

Saturday Oct 28th, 2006

 

There is a conflict between the Golf Tourn and the  Housing Corp Meeting.
 
Here is what I suggest:
 
I can Reschedule the Golf Tournament for the Spring.
 
Friday of Homecoming will be the Bonfire then an Alumni gathering at Pike Land! (Optional)
 
Saturday as follows:
 
9:00am Housing Corp Meeting @ MSC 2nd Floor Board Room
11:00am Luncheon (Location TBA)
12:30pm Tailgate (West Lawn)
2:00pm Football Game: TAMU-Commerce vs. East Central Oklahoma
Tickets available at the game or call 903-886-5558
 
With the game being at 2pm our time is tight. I think this would be the best schedule to accommodate everyone's needs.

If you would like a Alumni (Golf Type/Polo) Shirt with the Crest on it, please send:
 
1. Payment of $15.00 (Check or Money Order)
2. Attach a note with your size and your choice of color: Garnet or White.

Also, if you would like to order an Alumni Golf Shirt with the Crest on it, please let me know your size and how many and either Garnet or White. They will be $15 each. The sooner the better on these orders as well, so I can get them ordered and have them ready for Homecoming.

 

Alumni Advisory Board:

Our Alumni Advisor, Micah Weirich, former President, is putting together an Alumni Advisory board. Once he has his complete list, I will notify you all.

 

Special Events

Fireman’s Ball will be October 9-13. As you know, this fundraiser will help our local Fire Department. Any donations can be sent in Check or Money order form. Toga will be October 12.

Here is what’s happening with Theta Xi:
Submitted to the Shield and Diamond:
On Sunday August 6, 2006 the Theta Xi Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha suffered a horrendous loss. Our Dream Girl, Britney Lipsey, 20, and a high member of our Dream Court Rachel Rollings, 22, were killed in a car accident east of Dallas. This loss has deeply hurt our chapter. Britney was the sister of our MC Brody Lipsey and a former girlfriend to Joseph Louvier. Rachel was a former girlfriend of Clay Whisenhunt, our IMC Internal. Both girls were a big asset to our chapter. They helped with Rush and were always there to assist us in anything we possibly needed. Now they are gone...Sometimes we take things for granted and never think that something like this can happen to us. I am here to tell you that it can. The Pi Kappa Alpha Dream girl and our Dream Court has always been put on a very high pedestal on our campus. This was a huge loss for our Chapter and our Campus. Rush:
 We are excited to see some fresh faces on campus and some new members of Pi Kappa Alpha. If anyone has any ideas for our Rush Committees, please email them to brothers@thetaxi-pikes.com.
 
Special Events:
Fireman's Ball will be held in October along with Toga, that's right, TOGA! As you all know this is a HUGE fundraiser for us and we need all the support we can get! Dates will be emailed as soon as we set them... See above!!!!
 
Fundraising:
We are in the process of applying for a loan to begin building on the land. We thank everyone who has donated! Every little bit helps!

 

Alumni Relations:
 
HOMECOMING! I know you are all excited to come back for this big event! We are just as excited! You will get to meet all of our NEW PLEDGES at our Pike Alumni Bonfire at Pike Land as well as at our Pike Alumni Luncheon.
Homecoming week is Monday October 23-Saturday October 28th.  Please email or call me if you can attend. Hopefully I will need to find a big place to have it rather than a small place.

We have a great group of guys that are very excited to continue the
excellence of this chapter.
Also, thank you to everyone who is sending in the donations for the
ritual fund. We have almost got $400 raised. Good job! Also, I think
that we have decided that we need to at least have a structure up at
Pike Land by fall. We have over 5,000 saved and according to Doug
Williamson another 2500 in an account in south Texas. If we can get a
40X60 metal building up by fall that would help this chapter
tremendously. If anyone has any connections with materials/Supplies
please email or call me so I can get a list together. We are so close
to reaching this goal, let's not stop now!

On April 28, 2006, eight more people were initiated into the bonds of
Phi Phi KA.
Congratulations to the following people who are now Men:
1. Ray Walkup- 21 years old from Dallas. History major. Ray was Beta
Theta's first initiate.
2. Braylon Griffin- 21 years old. Business Student and SGA Senator.
3. Daniel Devega- 19 years old from Plano. Art/TV Major and football
player. My Little Bro too.
4. Chris Lorton- 22 years old from Bartlesville,OK. Psychology Major and
member of Track team.
5. Cliff Kolechek- 24 years old from Commerce. Major in Business.
6. Dwight Sneed- 21 years old from Dallas. Major in Business. President
of Marketing Frat. Engaged to be married.
7. Neil Harris- 22 years old. Major in Economics.
8. Mike Heinz- 25 years old from Paris. Grad Student. Works with
University Police Dept.
Congrats again to these men.

I wish you could all have seen the look on the Sigma Chi's faces when we
were announced as the Champions yesterday afternoon. The race was closer
than it has ever been, so next year we need to start strong and finish
stronger.

As our semester is coming to an end, I would like to thank everyone for
all of the support this year. We are almost where we need to be as far
as Alumni involvement. We had a great turnout at Crawfish, and I think
that Homecoming next semester will hopefully attract even more.

Note: International Convention is Coming up in Orlando, FL. Details at
pikes.org. We hope to send 4-6 people this year, so if you would like
to help, contact me.
