COMMERCE – Defending Class 3A state champion Commerce notched its fifth shutout of the year with a 38-0 homecoming win over Royse City.

Commerce (8-0, 3-0) in Dstrict 11-3A rushed for 320 yards while holding Royse City (0-8, 0-3) to just 73 total yards and 3 first downs.

Larry Hatley fueled a 22-point second quarter for Commerce with a 7-yard touchdown run and a 28-yard scoring pass from Shawn Droddy. Droddy also scored on runs of 3 and 6 yards.
