IC 2118 The Witch-Head Nebula and Rigel

IC 2118 is an extremely faint reflection nebula located in the constellation Eridnaus very close to the the  0.3 magnitude star Rigel in Orion.  Rigel is the bright star at lower left, and it's light is reflected off interstellar dust to its right. IC 2118 is shaped much like the ugly face of a witch so it has the name "Witch-head Nebula". In this view her face is upside down facing Rigel.

This image is a two frame mosaic made up of  60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak technical pan B&W film combined with similar  exposures on Kodak E200 film. They were all made with my Takahashi BRC 250 astrograph.
