IC 5070 The Pelican Nebula

This large area of emission nebula lies in the constellation of Cygnus; close to the bright star Deneb. It's brighter neighbor is known as the North American Nebula and lies just to the left outside the field of view in this image.

This image is a four-frame mosaic; each frame being a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak LE 400 film. A 50 min hypered Kodak Technical Pan film exposure was also used as a luminance composite with the color exposures.  Two telescopes were used in acquiring these; a 12.5" f/7 Newtonian telescope and a 10" Takahashi BRC astrogpaph.
