NGC 891
NGC 891 is probably the best recognized edge-on galaxy in the sky. Its dark dust lane shows up well against the glow of the spiral arms that we see from on edge. It's located in the constellation Andromeda.
This image is a composite of two 120 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ 400. They were taken with my 12.5" Newtonian with a Nikon TC 14 teleconverter; effective focal length is 3100mm at f/10.
