NGC 253 the Silver Dollar Galaxy
This fine spiral galaxy is in the constellation Sculptor. It is seen almost edge-on with a bright core and dust mingled within the spiral arms. It is only 10 million light years distant and is one of the brightest we see.
This image is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ 400. They were shot with the 12.5" f/7 Newt.
