M-81 Bode's Nebula
M81 is one of the easiest galaxies to observe in the northern hemisphere. With its total visual brightness of about magnitude 6.8 it can be found with small instruments. It also has a close partner with M-81; the two have gravitational interaction.
This image is a composite of a 120 minute and a 90 minute exposure on hypered Kodak PJM. Both were shot with a 10" LX 200 at f/11.
