M-63 The Sunflower Galaxy
M-63 is a spiral galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is magnitude 9.3 and 13.7' x 7.3'. It is bright enough to be seen in smaller telescopes but no hint of spiral structure will be seen in amateur size instruments.
This image is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ 400 film. They were made with my 12.5" f/7 Newtonian.
