M-16 the Eagle Nebula
M-16 is a rich star-forming region in Sagittarius. Emission nebula and inter-stellar dust surrounds a loose star cluster. A likeness of its namesake can be seen in the center of the nebula "flying" toward the right side of the page with talons extended and wing over-head.
This is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ 400 film. They were shot with my 12.5" f/7 Newtonian.
