M-108 and M-97
This interesting pair is the galaxy M-108 and the planetary nebula M-97; also known as the Owl Nebula. They are located in the constellation Ursa Major. They will fit in the same picture, but actually they are hundreds of thousands of light years apart. M-108 is much farther away and outside our own galaxy while M-97 is within our own galaxy.
This image is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ 400. They were taken with my 12.5" f/7 Newtonian.
