The Horse Head Nebula Region
This well-known region of the constellation Orion has several objects of interest. There's the horse head; B-33, a dust cloud that outlines the shape of a horse's head against a bright red emission nebula IC434. Just below the bright star Alnitak at left center is the Flame nebula; NGC 2024. To the left is a purple nebula IC 432 and above it is a small blue nebula IC 431. Right of Alnitak is NGC 2023 and below it is IC 435. The nebulosity of IC 434 extends all across the right side of the image and even toward the famous Orion nebula; M-42 which is near but out of the frame toward the right of this image.
