NGC 7293 the Helix Nebula

The Helix Nebula is the largest planetary nebula in the sky. It is more than half as large as the full moon. It has a low surface brightness; however, and is a difficult visual target. Its spiral-like look is where its name comes from.

This image is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ 400.  They were made with my 12.5" f/7 Newtonian.
