NGC 1499 The California Nebula
This large emission nebula is in the constellation of Persues. It is rather faint and not an easy photographic target; visually it can be seen with much difficulty using filters.
This image is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on Kodak PPF film; combined with one 60 minute Kodak Technical Pan film exposure. The exposures were made with a Takahashi BRC 250.
