M-1    The Crab Nebula

This is M-1, a supernova remnant located in Taurus. It is perhaps the most well known supernova remnant.  It was noted on July 4, 1054 A.D. by Chinese astronomers. It  was perhaps about as bright as the Full Moon and visible in daylight for 23 days.

This image is a composite of two 60 minute exposures on hypered Kodak PJ400. It was shot with my 12.5" Newtonian and AP1200 mount.
