IC 1805, IC 1848, and NGC 896

These two emission nebula in the constellation Casseopeia are large; both being about 60' x 120'. The image below covers almost four and one half degrees! Several open clusters are also around and within these two nebula; including NGC 1027 and Mel. 15 in IC 1805, and Cr 33 in IC 1848. These two are also known as the heart and baby nebulas. The brighter nebulosity at upper right is NGC 896.

This image is a 2 frame mosaic made with my Takahashi BRC 250. Each frame is a composite of two Kodak E200 color slide exposures and one Kodak hypered Technical Pan film exposure. All exposures were for one hour.
